I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
